Why Inspect?

The National Association of Realtors through its Home Protection Program supports the inspecting and reporting of home condition.  A Home Buyer who does not insist on a home inspection is taking a common but unneccessary risk.

A professional inspection is an examination of the true current condition of a dwelling.  It is not an appraisal or a municipal code inspection.  The inspector does not pass or fail a dwelling, rather, the detailed condition of the dwelling will be described.  During a pre-purchase inspection, if the inspector finds inadequate conditions in the dwelling, it doesn't necessarily mean the dwelling should not be purchased.  Rather, the inspection ensures that you will know in advance what types of repairs or conditions to anticipate which places you in the position to negotiate for their correction.
